Chapter 1

1:1Paul and Timothy, slaves of Jesus the Anointed One, to all the holy ones in the Anointed One Jesus who are in Philippi, with the overseers and servants:
1:2Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus the Anointed One.
1:3I give thanks to my God upon every remembrance of you,
1:4always, in every supplication of mine for you all, making the supplication with joy,
1:5because of your partnership in the good news from the first day until now,
1:6being confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus the Anointed One.
1:7It is right for me to think this concerning you all, because I have you in my heart, both in my chains and in the defense and confirmation of the good news, all of you being fellow partakers with me of grace.
1:8For God is my witness, how I long for you all with the tender affection of Jesus the Anointed One.
1:9And this I pray: that your love may abound yet more and more in full knowledge and all discernment,
1:10that you may discern the things that differ, so that you may be pure and without offense until the day of the Anointed One,
1:11being filled with the fruit of righteousness which comes through Jesus the Anointed One, to the glory and praise of God.
1:12Now I desire you to know, brothers, that the things concerning me have turned out rather for the advancement of the good news,
1:13so that my chains in the Anointed One have become evident throughout the Praetorian Guard and to all the rest,
1:14and most of the brothers in the Lord, having confidence through my chains, dare more abundantly to speak the word without fear.
1:15Some indeed proclaim the Anointed One through envy and strife, and some also through goodwill.
1:16The former proclaim the Anointed One out of rivalry, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my chains,
1:17but the latter out of love, knowing that I am appointed for the defense of the good news.
1:18What then? Only that in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, the Anointed One is proclaimed; and in this I rejoice, and will rejoice.
1:19For I know that this will turn out for my salvation through your supplication and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus the Anointed One,
1:20according to my earnest expectation and hope, that in nothing I will be ashamed, but with all boldness, as always, even now the Anointed One will be magnified in my body, whether through life or through death.
1:21For to me, to live is the Anointed One, and to die is gain.
1:22But if I am to live in the flesh, this means fruitful labor for me; and what I will choose I do not know.
1:23For I am pressed between the two, having the desire to depart and to be with the Anointed One, for that is far better,
1:24but to remain in the flesh is more necessary for your sake.
1:25And being persuaded of this, I know that I will remain and continue with you all for your advancement and joy in the faith,
1:26that your boasting in the Anointed One Jesus may abound in me through my coming to you again.
1:27Only conduct yourselves worthily of the good news of the Anointed One, so that, whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear the things concerning you: that you stand firm in one spirit, with one soul striving together for the faith of the good news,
1:28and are in nothing terrified by those who oppose you, which is to them a token of destruction, but to you of salvation—and that from God.
1:29For to you it was granted on behalf of the Anointed One not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer on His behalf,
1:30having the same struggle which you saw in me and now hear to be in me.

Chapter 2

2:1If, then, there is any exhortation in the Anointed One, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any tender affection and compassion,
2:2fulfill my joy: be of the same mind, having the same love, united in soul, minding the one thing.
2:3Do nothing through rivalry or vain glory, but in humility count one another more excellent than yourselves.
2:4Let each of you look not only to his own things, but each also to the things of others.
2:5Let this mind be in you which was also in the Anointed One Jesus,
2:6who, being in the form of God, did not consider equality with God something to be seized,
2:7but emptied Himself, taking the form of a slave, being made in the likeness of men.
2:8And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself, becoming obedient to death—even death on a cross.
2:9Therefore God also highly exalted Him and gave Him the Name above every name,
2:10so that at the Name of Jesus every knee should bow—those in heaven, and on earth, and under the earth—
2:11and every tongue should confess that Jesus the Anointed One is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
2:12Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—work out your own salvation with fear and trembling,
2:13For it is God who works in you both to will and to work for His good pleasure.
2:14Do all things without murmurings and disputes,
2:15that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world,
2:16holding forth the word of life, for my boasting in the day of the Anointed One, that I did not run in vain nor labor in vain.
2:17But even if I am poured out upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, I rejoice and am glad with you all.
2:18In the same way, you also rejoice and are glad with me.
2:19And I hope in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you soon, so that I also may be encouraged when I learn the things concerning you.
2:20For I have no one like-minded who will sincerely care for the things concerning you.
2:21For all seek their own things, not the things of Jesus the Anointed One.
2:22But you know his proven character, that as a child with a father he served with me in the good news.
2:23Therefore I hope to send him immediately, as soon as I see how the things concerning me will go.
2:24And I trust in the Lord that I myself will also come soon.
2:25But I thought it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus—my brother, fellow-worker, and fellow-soldier, and your messenger and servant to my need—
2:26since he was longing for you all and was deeply troubled because you heard that he was ill.
2:27For indeed he was ill, near to death; but God had mercy on him, and not on him only, but also on me, lest I should have sorrow upon sorrow.
2:28Therefore I sent him more eagerly, so that when you see him again you may rejoice, and I may be less sorrowful.
2:29Receive him, therefore, in the Lord with all joy, and hold such men in honor,
2:30because for the work of the Anointed One he came near to death, risking his life to fill up what was lacking in your service to me.

Chapter 3

3:1Finally, my brothers, rejoice in the Lord. To write the same things to you is not tiresome to me, and for you it is safe.
3:2Watch out for the dogs! Watch out for the evil workers! Watch out for the mutilation!
3:3For we are the circumcision, who serve God in the Spirit, glory in the Anointed One Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh,
3:4though I myself have cause for confidence even in the flesh. If anyone else thinks he has confidence in the flesh, I more:
3:5circumcised on the eighth day; of the race of Israel; of the tribe of Benjamin; a Hebrew of Hebrews; according to the Law, a Pharisee;
3:6according to zeal, persecuting the Assembly; according to the righteousness in the Law, becoming blameless.
3:7But whatever things were gains to me, these I have counted loss because of the Anointed One.
3:8Yes indeed, I also count all things loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Jesus the Anointed One my Lord, because of whom I suffered the loss of all things and count them refuse, that I may gain the Anointed One
3:9and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the Law, but that which is through faith of the Anointed One—the righteousness from God by faith—
3:10To know Him, and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death,
3:11if by any means I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.
3:12Not that I have already obtained it or have already been perfected, but I pursue, if indeed I may lay hold of that for which I was also laid hold of by Jesus the Anointed One.
3:13Brothers, I do not reckon myself to have laid hold of it; but one thing I do: forgetting the things behind and stretching forward to the things before,
3:14I pursue toward the mark for the prize of the upward calling of God in Jesus the Anointed One.
3:15Therefore, as many as are mature, let us think this; and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal this also to you.
3:16Nevertheless, to what we have attained, let us walk by the same rule and mind the same thing.
3:17Become fellow imitators of me, brothers, and observe those who walk in this way, as you have us for a pattern.
3:18For many walk, of whom I told you often—and now tell you even weeping—that they are enemies of the cross of the Anointed One,
3:19whose end is destruction, whose god is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame—those who mind earthly things.
3:20For our citizenship is in the heavens, from where we also await a Savior, the Lord Jesus the Anointed One,
3:21who will transform the body of our humiliation to conform it to the body of His glory, according to the working by which He is able even to subject all things to Himself.

Chapter 4

4:1Therefore, my beloved and longed-for brothers, my joy and garland, so stand firm in the Lord, beloved.
4:2I exhort Euodia, and I exhort Syntyche, to be of the same mind in the Lord.
4:3Yes, I also ask you, genuine yoke-fellow, assist these women who strove alongside me in the good news, together with Clement and the rest of my fellow-workers, whose names are in the Book of Life.
4:4Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice!
4:5Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is near.
4:6Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;
4:7And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Jesus the Anointed One.
4:8Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever are honorable, whatever are just, whatever are pure, whatever are lovely, whatever are of good report—if there is any excellence and if there is any praise—think on these things.
4:9The things you also learned, received, heard, and saw in me, do these; and the God of peace will be with you.
4:10And I rejoiced greatly in the Lord that now at last your care for me has flourished again; indeed, you were caring, but you lacked opportunity.
4:11I do not speak because of need, for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am.
4:12I know both how to be humbled and how to abound; in everything and in all things I have learned the secret, both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to be in need.
4:13I have strength for all things through the Anointed One who strengthens me.
4:14Nevertheless, you did well in sharing in my affliction.
4:15And you Philippians also know that in the beginning of the good news, when I went out from Macedonia, no assembly shared with me in the matter of giving and receiving except you alone.
4:16For even in Thessalonica you sent once and again for my need.
4:17Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that abounds to your account.
4:18But I have all things and abound; I am full, having received from Epaphroditus the things from you—a fragrant aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, well-pleasing to God.
4:19And my God will supply every need of yours according to His riches in glory in Jesus the Anointed One.
4:20Now to our God and Father be the glory through the ages of the ages. So be it.
4:21Greet every holy one in Jesus the Anointed One. The brothers with me greet you.
4:22All the holy ones greet you, and especially those of Caesar’s household.
4:23The grace of our Lord Jesus the Anointed One be with you all. So be it.
