Chapter 1
1:1Paul, Silas, and Timothy, to the assembly of the Thessalonians in God our Father and the Lord Jesus the Anointed One:1:2Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus the Anointed One!1:3We ought always to give thanks to God for you, brothers, as is fitting, because your faith grows exceedingly, and the love of each one of you all toward one another abounds,1:4So that we ourselves boast of you among the assemblies of God for your perseverance and faith in all your persecutions and afflictions that you endure—1:5This is evidence of the righteous judgment of God, so that you may be counted worthy of the Kingdom of God, for which you also suffer,1:6Since it is righteous with God to repay affliction to those who afflict you,1:7And to you who are afflicted, rest with us, when the Lord Jesus is revealed from Heaven with His mighty angels,1:8In flaming fire, inflicting vengeance on those who do not know God and on those who do not obey the good news of our Lord Jesus the Anointed One,1:9Who will suffer the penalty of eternal destruction from the face of the Lord and from the glory of His might,1:10When He comes to be glorified in His holy ones and to be marveled at among all who believe—because our testimony was believed among you—in that Day;1:11For this we also always pray for you, that our God may count you worthy of the calling and fulfill every desire for goodness and every work of faith with power,1:12That the Name of our Lord Jesus the Anointed One may be glorified in you, and you in Him, according to the grace of our God and Lord Jesus the Anointed One.Chapter 2
2:1Now we ask you, brothers, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus the Anointed One and our gathering together to Him,2:2That you not be quickly shaken from your mind or troubled, whether by spirit, by word, or by letter as though from us, as though the Day of the Lord had come;2:3Let no one deceive you in any way; for that Day will not come unless the rebellion comes first and the man of lawlessness is revealed—the son of destruction—2:4Who opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, proclaiming himself to be God.2:5Do you not remember that while I was still with you, I told you these things?2:6And now you know what restrains him, so that he may be revealed in his own time,2:7For the secret of lawlessness is already at work; only the one who now restrains will do so until he is out of the way,2:8And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and bring to nothing by the appearance of His coming,2:9Whose coming is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders,2:10And with every unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth so that they might be saved,2:11And because of this God will send them a working of delusion, so that they may believe the lie,2:12That all may be judged who did not believe the truth, but delighted in unrighteousness.2:13But we ought always to give thanks to God for you, brothers beloved by the Lord, because God chose you from the beginning for salvation, in sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth,2:14To which He called you through our good news, for the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus the Anointed One;2:15Therefore, brothers, stand fast and hold the traditions that you were taught, whether by word or by our letter;2:16And may our Lord Jesus the Anointed One Himself, and our God and Father, who loved us and gave us eternal comfort and good hope in grace,2:17Comfort your hearts and establish you in every good word and work.Chapter 3
3:1Finally, brothers, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may run and be glorified, as it was also with you,3:2And that we may be delivered from perverse and evil men, for not all have faith;3:3But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one;3:4And we have confidence in the Lord concerning you, that you both do and will do the things we command you;3:5And may the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God and into the endurance of the Anointed One.3:6Now we command you, brothers, in the Name of our Lord Jesus the Anointed One, to withdraw from every brother who walks disorderly and not according to the tradition that he received from us,3:7For you yourselves know how you ought to imitate us, because we did not behave disorderly among you;3:8Nor did we eat anyone’s bread without paying, but with labor and travail we worked night and day, so that we might not be a burden to any of you;3:9Not because we do not have authority, but so that we might give ourselves to you as a pattern to imitate;3:10For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: if anyone is not willing to work, neither let him eat,3:11For we hear that some among you walk disorderly, doing no work, but meddling,3:12Now such people we command and exhort through our Lord Jesus the Anointed One to work quietly and eat their own bread;3:13But you, brothers, do not grow weary in doing good,3:14And if anyone does not obey our word in this letter, take note of that man and do not associate with him, so that he may be ashamed,3:15Yet do not regard him as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother;3:16Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always in every way. The Lord be with you all!3:17The greeting is by my own hand—Paul’s—which is a sign in every letter; this is how I write.3:18The grace of our Lord Jesus the Anointed One be with you all! So be it.
